One of the most common traits of all of our employees is that we take tremendous pride in supporting MIT, a top-tier educational institution that provides world class education, cutting edge research, and innovation. We aspire to make MITIMCo an amazing place to work because we believe that attracting, rewarding, and retaining exceptional people is central to our long term success.
At MITIMCo we believe that independence, patience, humility, and intellectual honesty are critical in making sound long term decisions. We work hard to maintain a supportive culture that is focused on asking the right questions and getting the best answers. In support of this pursuit we never stop asking questions and have the tenacity to dig for information that is not easily available in order to answer them. We value intellectual independence and encourage debate. Everyone on our team is expected to form and express opinions which is sustained by our flat organizational structure and meritocratic culture. Our team members have the flexibility to manage their own time and the freedom to come up with creative ideas for how to approach the challenges of endowment management.
At MITIMCo our people never stop learning. We are a self-reflective, innovative, and entrepreneurial group who seek continuous improvement. Furthermore, we believe that successful innovation requires the willingness to make mistakes. From these mistakes we seek to learn interesting new lessons that further develop our judgment and expertise. In all aspects of our work we are unwavering in our commitment to integrity and sound ethical practices.
In addition to our passion for investing and supporting MIT, we believe it is important pursue complementary outside activities that promote fun, health and wellness, and community involvement.
MIT Softball League
Over the past four years, MITIMCo's vaunted Mudhens take the field as part of the MIT Intramural Softball League. Although we earn our share of wins, the priority is to participate in a fun and relaxing recreation with colleagues. The league runs from late May through early August, and all employees are strongly encouraged to participate regardless of experience or skill level. The team serves as a great opportunity to interact outside of the work setting and enjoy the nice weather. Go Mudhens!
J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge
MITIMCo participates in the annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge held in Boston. The Corporate Challenge is a 3.5-mile running event open to groups of full-time employees from organizations within the business and public sectors. The event is a way for MITIMCo to promote health and fitness and make a difference through a donation to a local non-profit. The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge also aspires to be the world’s greenest road race.
